I am supporting Felsus at Patreon and won this original sketch from him! It's beautiful, and it can be yours. Go become a patron and support his awesome art, and I will raffle this off next week from his list of new subscribers. He is one of my favorite artists, and needs more attention over there. While he isn't doing any female muscle art at the moment, I feel that his previous contributions to the community are worthy of support:

May is looking to be a fine month for muscle girls. I have a bunch of commissions in progress. I also will be posting some really nice artwork in the next few days. Check out the pic above for some sweet previews. There's art from ichan-desu, MoxyDoxy, zetarok, ClaudiaAloisia, Lelia, Nortedesigns, Solfei, ichan-desu (again), and kyptova. Hope you guys will like 'em. As always, keep those comments coming. I read each one, and they help keep me motivated in sharing.

I am a big fan of Lee Jin Won (이진원) ever since I saw this cute video of her. Friend-silver2005 recently posted some pics of her from a competition that I'm really digging. There's also a Youtube video of her doing tricep curls that I find mesmerizing, along with the source video the shorter one I linked earlier came from.

Dimension W
Manga Muscle Girls「漫画の筋肉娘」

 photo dimension-w-v6-000.jpg photo dimension-w-v6-p22.jpg photo dimension-w-v6-p23.jpg

Dimension W (ディメンションW) is a manga by IWAHARA Yuji (岩原裕二) being serialized in Young Gangan by Square Enix.  The story, according to Manga updates:

In the future, Nikola Tesla's dream of a 'World System' of electricity is realized. Cords and batteries are a thing of the past, and now people can directly draw energy using devices known as 'coils.' Some people, however, modify these coils for destructive purposes. Mabuchi Kyoma, a man who lives in ruins and has a passion for 'vintage' gas-powered cars, has good reason to know what damage these coils can do. He takes on assignments from a large woman known as Marie, recovering illegal coils in exchange for cash and gasoline.

It caught my interest because in Volume 6, a muscular character appears on the cover.  Her name is Rusty or Lashti (ラシティ) or something phoenetically similar.  She appears a lot in this volume:

 photo dimension-w-v6-p192.jpg photo dimension-w-v6-p195.jpg photo dimension-w-v6-p202.jpg

My favorite scene involving her is this double page spread:

 photo dimension-w-v6-p20-21.jpg

She only seems to appear in one page of Volume 7, I hope she appears more. I haven't had time to check out the earlier volumes yet, so if you have please chime in here if the character appears earlier in the series.  As always, I appreciate any comments since they keep me motiviated in sharing the things I discover.

February Frenzy

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 5, 2015, 7:39 AM
February is my favorite month. My birthday usually falls on the last day of the month, unless it is a leap year. Since it's the shortest month, I always feel like it comes quicker. Last year, I celebrated by posting a lot of commissions. I have 14 awesome commissions I plan on sharing this time, posting one every other day. I started the month by posting some epic deviations: Tifa by Speeh and She-Hulk by bigmac996. I'll be posting 2 incredible pieces by ichan-desu, along with some pieces by some artists I haven't worked with before: RacoonKun and M4GX.

Some people noticed that my Photobucket links broke earlier this week. I exceeded my bandwidth for the month. Luckily, the stats reset for me on the 5th of the month, so I'm back in business now. I might have to think about upgrading my account to get more bandwidth at some point though. I'd prefer to save that money so I can bring you more awesome commissioned art.

Thanks to everyone who supported quality muscle art by purchasing the Premium Content in my gallery. So far, all the premium content together has managed to net almost $200! Everything goes towards more art. All the commissions I posted in January cost about $250, so the Premium Content is almost enough to cover costs for an entire month of commissions. Cool! As always, I appreciate all the faves and comments, it keeps me motivated in sharing stuff with you all. Cheers!

Mad Bull 34

Mad Bull 34
Manga Muscle Girls「漫画の筋肉娘」

It has been way too long since I've updated Manga Muscle Girls「漫画の筋肉娘」 and I will try to do it more frequently. I came across this manga a few months ago thanks to a note from itslikeacartoon. It's called Mad Bull 34「マッドブル34」and also has an anime. I remember seeing a clip of a muscle girl in the anime a long time ago, though it hadn't occurred to me until recently to look for the manga. I should have done it a long time ago because it has some nice muscle girl art in it. The original manga was published in 27 volumes, but the re-release I have is 19 volumes. Volumes 4, 15, and 19 are the ones where muscle girls make appearances.

 photo madbull34_04-036.jpg photo madbull34_04-037.jpg photo madbull34_04-043.jpg

The manga was written by Kazuo Koike (小池 一夫) and drawn by (井上 紀良). Koike-sensei is definitely a fan of muscle girls, having also written Brothers and Akai Hato which I've written about before. The series is a seinen manga originally serialized in Young Jump. As a seinen manga, it has nudity and mature situations, so definitely NSFW. Please enjoy responsibly.

Top 10 Deviations of 2014

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 6, 2015, 7:06 AM
Another year, another Top 10 list. I've gathered the top deviations of 2014 by number of faves into a Top Art of 2014 gallery. I've decided to forgo my usual countdown and just post the pieces all in one shot. Hope you all don't mind. All these numbers are as of the end of day on 12/31/2014. Drumroll, please...

01) 887 faves 08/01/2014 Nami by Speeh
02) 736 faves 08/07/2014 Boobs by various
03) 717 faves 04/19/2014 Tifa by zetarok
04) 715 faves 07/10/2014 Yoko by Speeh
05) 676 faves 09/01/2014 Power Girl by Speeh
06) 675 faves 01/24/2014 Wii Fit Trainer by Aka-Shiro
07) 669 faves 03/14/2014 She-Hulk by hybridmink
08) 609 faves 12/09/2014 Samus by Kawa-V
09) 608 faves 04/01/2014 Korra by skyraptor
10) 598 faves 08/10/2014 She-Hulk by Mikeinel

Speeh took the top spot along with 3 spots overall. August was the best month for deviations, taking spots #1, #2, and #10. Wii Fit Trainer was a palette swap of Fit Gal which did better than the original. She-Hulk is the only character to appear twice in the list. Here's the Top 10 of 2014 in thumbnails:

Nami by elee0228Boobs by elee0228Tifa by elee0228Yoko by elee0228Power Girl by elee0228Wii Fit Trainer by elee0228She-Hulk by elee0228Samus by elee0228Korra by elee0228She-Hulk by elee0228

There's a few deviations which I like quite a bit more than these 10 that didn't make it to the list. For example:

She-Hulk by elee0228Tifa by elee0228Nami by elee0228

What about you, which devations are in your own Top 10 list for 2014?

Numbers and Thoughts

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 22, 2014, 7:40 AM
In 2014, 88% of deviants polled approve of the job I am doing so far.  I hope it holds.  That would be the highest number since I started doing the polls.  Thanks to everyone who voted!

Over the weekend, I reached 5,555 watchers. Cool!

3 series that I followed for a long time have recently ended: the Legend of Korra, Naruto, and History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi.  What will fill that void now?

Looking back at the last few months, a few things surprised me about my deviations.  Yoruichi was the most faved deviation in October and Samus is the most faved in December so far.  While not bad pieces, I feel they got way more faves than they should have and I'm curious why that is?  The Yoruichi has anatomy issues, and the Samus one doesn't really depict much in the way of muscle.  I only expected them to get about 200 faves, and they each got double that.  While I'm at it, this unbuff Chun-Li is one of my most faved pieces of all time.  It confuses me...

Yoruichi by elee0228Samus by elee0228Chun-Li by elee0228

I mean, aren't people watching me because they like muscle girls?  That reminds me, I like getting comments, it keeps me motivated in sharing my stuff.  Still, I know there's tons of quality deviations at DeviantArt so I know it's hard to comment on everything.  If you don't have time to comment, at least fave.  It takes less than a second, and faves are important.  They determine how well things turn up in the DeviantArt search.  The more good things that it turns up, the more useful this site is.  So fave early and often!

If you read this far, thanks.  Here's something for your time, previews of some cool upcoming commissions:

Wishing you all Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Year in Review

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 2, 2014, 8:57 AM
Wow, can't believe it's December already.  There's two things I like to do at the end of every year.  I run a poll around the middle of December asking how you think I'm doing.  It would mean a lot to me if you would take the time to vote, it helps me gauge how I'm doing.  The results were good in 2011, better in 2012, and then worse in 2013.  I hope I'll do better in the poll this year.

The other thing I like to do is look back at the Top 10 deviations of the year.  There's a section in my gallery where you can find the Top Art in 2011, Top Art in 2012, and Top Art in 2013.  I've posted over 150 commissioned deviations so far this year, and will definitely surpass the 156 that I posted in 2013.  There's definitely going to be a lot of great art in the Top 10 for this year.  I received so much good stuff this year that some worthy commissions won't make the cut:

Amazon by elee0228 Blue Mary by elee0228 ChunLi by elee0228 Wonder Woman by elee0228 Korra by elee0228

I am re-organizing my gallery and trying to sort things better.  One thing I will continue to do is post everything in the Featured part of the gallery, so you can always find everything there.  My goal is to make it easier to find art by a particular artist or art of a certain character.

I started the Awesome Pic of the Day feature on my page this year.  I haven't posted there as much as I would have liked.  I hope you have been enjoying it.

The Pixiv Archive is up to 24 and counting.  Pixiv changed the way it stores images on its site recently, which makes it harder to put together the stuff I feature.  I might have to stop doing these, since its taking longer and longer to do them.  That's time that i could be spending commissioning more art, so I have to think about it.

I colored 36 pages of Magic Muscle, the Fairy Tail doujinshi project led by jsiejkd with art by the awesome Pokkuti.  Amerthen00b kindly contributed some money to fund the coloring.  All the pages of the main story should be colored by early next year.  Some people have asked if I would be coloring the Juvia Side Story or the Wendy Side Story featuring art by bokuman.  The answer for now is no, but that could change if I get more time.

A lot happened in 2014 and I've got a lot more planned for 2015.  As always, keep sending me your comments.  They keep me motivated in sharing my commissions and findings.

Nude November

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 24, 2014, 9:18 AM

In the month of November, I'll be posting only nude versions of the art I commission.  They will all be tagged as Mature Content.  If you hide deviations with Mature Content or don't have an account, you won't be able to see these.  I have been falling behind on posting these, so this is a convenient way for me to catch up.  I pixelated the preview pics for your safety.  You'll probably still be able to make out enough to guess the characters.  Which one are you looking forward to seeing most?

I'll go back to posting regular stuff in December, with nudes mixed in occasionally.  I've got a few good things planned for December.  I've got some commissions from ichan-desu, skyraptor, and ManiacPaint that I will be posting.  I also hope to have some by Speeh and DJOK3 done by then.  I really like how this Elsa from Balsamique turned out and thinking of commissioning him again.  Go watch him, he's an awesome artist!

Upcoming Commissions

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 6, 2014, 9:10 AM

I'm a huge fan of ichan-desu and have a bunch of commissions in the works with him.  I just love the way he draws muscles on girls, keeping them powerful and sexy at the same time.  Take a look at the previews above and you'll see what I mean.  I am going to try to commission this artist as much as I can.  I highly recommend him if you are looking for an artist.

The Supergirl one above was based off of female bodybuilder Colette Nelson and I sent it to her.  She was cool enough to post it on her website.  Here are the other works commissioned from the awesome ichan-desu:

Disclaimer, Tags, Screenshots

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 9, 2014, 5:53 AM
It seems a lot of people still think I draw the stuff in my gallery. I commission art, which means I pay other artists to draw stuff for me. I always credit the artist in each picture. Sometimes I will modify or color stuff. I thought it would be obvious with the wide range of art styles in my gallery. I guess it doesn't hurt to remind people occasionally.

deviantART announced they are transitioning keywords into tags to mixed reviews. It seems most people don't like them. I wasn't sure how it would be and wanted to try it before I judged them. There are definitely still some bugs. My new deviations don't show up in tag searches, for instance. On the whole, I like tag searches better than normal searches. One thing that bugged me was that the default search also searched on usernames, so searches for some items would favor artists with that term in their name. You could search for keywords:term to filter out names, though not many people knew that. Searching by #term seems to search only the tags, which is nice if it worked 100% of the time. Right now, both search styles still works, so it is a little confusing. I wonder if they will leave it that way?

Playing Ring Dream is still part of my daily routine. The weekly events keep things fresh. I'm always on the lookout for the muscular wrestlers in the game. Here's a few screenshots for you:

Make-Upper

Make-Upper
Manga Muscle Girls「漫画の筋肉娘」

Make Upper (メイキャッパー) by Keisuke Itagaki (板垣恵介) originally ran in Shonen Champion in 1997. It was one of Itagaki-sensei's first works, and he went on to create the popular Grappler Baki series. He has a keen eye for muscular anatomy, though he doesn't usually draw muscular women in Baki. I was surprised to see in this short 3-volume series, there were several buff girls.

The main character specializes in a technique that makes people more beautiful. He applies it to this strong lady in the first book. There's another muscular girl in the third and last volume:

It's definitely worth checking out. Hat tip to Kinnikumusume.com for the information regarding the series.
