The Art of Rex ( 10-4 )

The Art of Rex ( 10-4 )

Rex, aka 10-4, is an artist that needs more love from the community.  To the female muscle enthusiast, he's the famous creator of Mrs. Armstrong and Ms. Fantasy for LH Art.  To the rest of the world he's a Small Press Comic creator.  I think if he realized how much we like his artwork that he'd post it more frequently.  So, I say unto thee, Rex: Your stuff is awesome! Please draw more muscle art!

Small Press Syndicate

Up until a few years ago, Rex had maintained a forum over at Small Press Syndicate.  Fortunately, the gallery is still available and you'll find some really beautiful pieces, as well as a short sequential art story featuring Ms. Fantasy.  The Ms. Fantasy story is pretty funny, and should also appeal to the female muscle growth fans out there. Here's a selection of my favorites from his gallery along with the Ms. Fantasy comic:

Fett made an epilogue to this story and it's available at Fett's DeviantART scraps section as well as in REX's gallery.

Gasoline Powered Youth

He blogs along with Red Silver and Tourist over at Gasoline Powered Youth on Blogspot.  Here are some of the cool images you'll find there:

LH Art

As mentioned earlier, Rex has some stuff published by LH Art, and you'll find some of his beautiful artwork in the following paper or PDF comics:

155N Muscle Pinups
LH-Art Comics & Stories #13 (First appearance of Mrs. Armstrong)
LH-Art Comics & Stories #14
LH-Artist Folio #20
LH-Artist Folio #21
LH-Artist Folio #25
All Amazon #9
All Amazon #10 ( Cover & Mrs Armstrong Works Out Part 1 )
All Amazon #11 ( Cover & Mrs Armstrong Works Out Part 2)
All Growth #7 ( Ms Fantasy )

Some of the work that appeared above is now available online at LH Art with a membership.  For your convenience, here's all the stuff that is available online currently for quicker access for those who already are members:

Mrs Armstrong On Top ( Part 1, Part 2 )
Mrs Armstrong Works Out ( Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 ) ( from All Amazon #9, 11 )

In conclusion, Rex's artwork rocks and the world needs more of it.  Please show your support and affection for this great artist by posting to his new official thread.

Update 10/15/2009: Rex has a DeviantART account!  He is DanNauenburg here, so go add him to your watchlist if you like his work.  There also appears to be a new work of his available over at LH-Art called Cleopatra's Throne of Power.  Check it out.

Sorry, that's a really old post. Guess Rex took his site down. Looks lie the new one is up at [link] but his old muscle stuff isn't on that one.

Funny thing in this post about my Rex Moniker. In the Gasoline Powered Youth section, the first sketch page with 3 doodles of a thin lady with a fitness level build are actually extremely early character studies for my Sci-Fi comic. A comic that is still in production. I tried like mad to edit her out of the story, but it turns out I needed to keep her in and to have a hint of muscle to keep the story moving. Even now, after the script is complete, I still wish I could somehow loose the muscle and advance the story without it.

I know that's kind of a buzz kill here, but sometimes I feel a strong need to impose a strict discipline on myself to make story the number one element. I have my fingers crossed that I don't end up regretting keeping her in the story.

Anyway, I finally am getting the hang of this place, and I thought I should at least visit this thread and add my thoughts.

Thanks for taking the time and energy to post this nifty homage to my (I can't resist) Deviant past.

I'll consider it, but to be truthful, my heart is in my other comics right now. Maybe in the future I'll try my hand at the Amazon stuff again.
